Overview

The Girsan Witness2311 CMX is the best-equipped Witness2311 you can buy under $1,000. EAA lists it at a $999 MSRP, with street pricing around $889 to $913, and the upgrades over the base gun are the ones that matter: a tuned single-action trigger and a direct-milled optic cut. For a shooter who wants optics-ready plus a genuinely tuned trigger without crossing the $1,000 line, this is the Girsan to buy.

The CMX deletes the traditional grip safety in favor of an auto firing-pin block safety, which lets Girsan slim the grip module while keeping a drop-safe action. The single-action trigger is tuned to a 4.5-pound maximum per EAA's spec, a real improvement over the heavier factory pulls common in this price class. The slide carries a direct-mill RMSc optic cut with removable 3-dot sights, and RMR-footprint optics mount through a plate. The 4.25-inch cold-hammer-forged bull barrel and ambidextrous thumb safety carry over from the line.

Magazine compatibility is identical to the rest of the Witness2311 family: the CMX accepts the Standard Double Stack 1911 pattern shared with Staccato, Check-Mate, and other 2011 magazines, with one magazine included. Capacity is a competitive 17+1, though not class-leading. The trade-offs are the same as any EAA import. Service turnaround is slower than domestic brands, the RMSc-only direct cut means RMR-footprint optics need a plate, and the deleted grip safety will not suit 1911 traditionalists.
