Overview

The PSA Dagger Compact is Palmetto State Armory's in-house take on the Glock 19 Gen 3, built on tooling that produces a striker-fired polymer 9mm at roughly half the price of a factory Glock. Reviewers across the budget-pistol category consistently rate the Dagger Compact as reliable enough for concealed carry and home-defense use, with the obvious caveat that it does not carry the proven round count of a 100,000-round Glock test sample.

Internal parts compatibility runs deep on the Gen 3 side. Glock 19 Gen 3 magazines (factory OEM 15-round, Magpul PMAG 15 GL9), Glock 17 17-round and 33-round mags, Gen 3 trigger components like the Overwatch Precision DAT shoe, Glock-dovetail front and rear sights, and any standard Picatinny rail accessory all drop in without modification. Where the Dagger differs from a true Glock 19 is the polymer frame ergonomics: the trigger guard envelope, grip cavity, and rail position are modified just enough that most standard Glock 19 magwells do not fit, and the majority of hard-sided Glock 19 Kydex holsters will not retain a Dagger correctly. Use Dagger-specific magwells (Herrington Arms HA Magwell V2, SLR Rifleworks PSA Dagger Magwell, Grit Grips) and Dagger-cut holsters (Tulster Profile, Vedder LightTuck, T.Rex Sidecar) instead.

The base SW1 standard-slide non-threaded-barrel Dagger Compact sells for about $330 at Guns.com and similar retailers, with optics-ready (SW2 RMR-cut), threaded-barrel, and Extreme Carry Cut variants available at higher price points. For a budget concealed-carry or home-defense pistol that runs on the largest pistol parts ecosystem in the country, the Dagger Compact delivers the most capability per dollar in the compact 9mm space.
