Best PSA Dagger Accessories 2026: Optics, Triggers & Holsters Ranked

Top PSA Dagger Compact, Full Size, and Micro upgrades ranked: optics on RMR cut (Compact/Full) and Shield RMSc cut (Micro), Glock Gen 3 triggers that drop in, PSA OEM threaded barrels, plus the magwell and holster compatibility traps standard Glock 19 parts will not solve.

Best PSA Dagger Accessories 2026: Optics, Triggers & Holsters Ranked

The PSA Dagger is a Glock 19 Gen 3 clone at roughly half the price, and most aftermarket Glock parts drop in, but not all of them. Magwells, holsters, and a meaningful slice of frame accessories built for the Glock 19 do NOT fit the Dagger because PSA modified the frame ergonomics to avoid patent issues. This guide ranks every Dagger upgrade category with verified fitment for the Dagger Compact, Full Size, and Micro: optics (RMR cut on Compact/Full, Shield RMSc on Micro), triggers, lights, holsters, threaded barrels, compensators, sights, magwells, and magazines. If you cross-shopped this against a factory G19, see our Glock 19 upgrades guide for the parts that cross-fit both platforms.

Three Daggers, Two Optic Footprints

The PSA Dagger ships in three variants. The Compact and Full Size run on Glock 19 Gen 3 internals; the Micro runs on Glock 43X/48 internals. The OR slides on the Compact and Full Size are cut for the Trijicon RMR footprint, while the Micro is cut for the Shield RMSc / Holosun K footprint. These two footprints are not interchangeable. Picking the wrong optic is the most expensive Dagger mistake; the second most expensive is buying a Glock 19 holster.

Dagger Upgrade Priority: What to Buy First

The biggest Dagger performance gains come from optics, lights, and triggers, in that order. Frame and barrel work pays off later. Skip cosmetic upgrades until the functional ones are handled.

Stock up on magazines before any upgrade. Glock 19 Gen 3 magazines are the cheapest, most-produced double-stack 9mm mag in the world, and the Dagger Compact and Full Size run them flush. For the Micro, the PSA OEM Dagger Micro 15-round magazine is half the price of a Shield Arms S15 and does NOT require a steel mag catch swap. See our best Glock triggers guide for the cross-model trigger options the Dagger inherits from the Glock Gen 3 fire control group.

Best Optics for the PSA Dagger

A red dot is the single biggest accuracy and target-acquisition upgrade you can make on a Dagger, and PSA sells OR slide assemblies on every variant. The Compact and Full Size SW1/SW2 optics-ready slides are RMR cut. The Micro is Shield RMSc / Holosun K cut. RMR optics do NOT fit the Micro and K optics do NOT fit the Compact or Full Size, those cuts are physically different and not file-to-fit compatible. For a deeper dive on footprints, see our best pistol red dot guide.

Best Triggers for the PSA Dagger

The Dagger runs Glock Gen 3 fire control, so any trigger that explicitly supports Gen 3 Glock-pattern clones drops in. The Overwatch Precision DAT is the safe primary pick, Overwatch lists Glock-pattern clones in its fitment scope, while a number of competing triggers list only factory Glocks. Pay attention to variant: the standard DAT fits the Compact and Full Size, while the G43X/48 DAT fits the Micro. They are not interchangeable. If you are also considering a Glock 19 or 43X, the Glock 43X upgrades guide covers the slimline trigger options that cross-fit the Dagger Micro.

Threaded Barrel and Compensator

The PSA OEM Dagger threaded barrel is the safest path to a compensator or suppressor host on the Compact and Full Size. Aftermarket Glock 19 Gen 3 barrels are not always Dagger-fit because PSA modified the chamber and lug geometry slightly. The OEM barrel ships in 1/2x28 stainless DLC for $129 and pairs cleanly with the Tyrant CNC Uni-Comp 9mm. The Dagger Micro does NOT have a factory threaded barrel option from PSA at this time, so this section applies to Compact and Full Size only.

Best Weapon Lights for the PSA Dagger

Any defensive Dagger needs a light. The Compact and Full Size run a standard Glock-style 1913 rail and accept the same lights as a Glock 19, the Streamlight TLR-7A is the volume pick, the SureFire X300U-A is the duty pick. The Micro uses the slimline G43X/48 sub-compact rail and only the Sub-fit variant of the TLR-7 fits without overhanging the muzzle. Picking the wrong variant means the light index hangs off the front of the slide and stops fitting any holster.

Best Holsters for the PSA Dagger

This is the trap. The Dagger Compact has a slightly different trigger guard envelope than the Glock 19, so most hard-sided Glock 19 Kydex holsters do NOT retain the Dagger correctly. Buy a holster that lists the PSA Dagger Compact as a supported platform in the model picker. Tulster, Vedder, and T.Rex Arms all sell Dagger-specific shells. For a broader AIWB framework, see our best concealed carry holster guide. If you are also considering a Glock-pattern clone like the Ruger RXM, the Ruger RXM accessories guide covers a similar parts-cross-fit story with different holster fitment.

Iron Sights and Co-Witness

Running a red dot still needs irons. On a Dagger Compact or Full Size OR slide, suppressor-height irons co-witness through an RMR-class window so the dot stays usable even if the optic dies. On the Micro, standard-height slimline irons replace the factory plastic sights, but they will not co-witness through a K-footprint optic. Both sets share the Glock dovetail interface and install with a standard Glock front sight tool.

Dagger-Specific Magwells

The most common Dagger frame trap. Standard Glock 19 magwells from Strike Industries, Agency Arms, SLR Rifleworks, and Brownells do NOT fit the PSA Dagger because the frame ergonomics around the magwell cavity are not the same. The Herrington Arms HA Magwell V2 is purpose-cut for the Dagger and ships in dedicated Compact and Full Size variants. They are not drop-in; install requires Loctite 243 and a 24-48 hour cure. Skip this entirely if you carry deep AIWB and want the grip flush.

Stock Up on PSA Dagger Magazines (Do This First)

Why magazines come first: The Glock 19 Gen 3 magazine is the cheapest, most-produced double-stack 9mm magazine on the market, and the Dagger Compact and Full Size run it flush. Building a ten-magazine training stack costs $150-$250 and is the single highest-ROI Dagger purchase you can make. For Compact carry, OEM Glock 15-round mags are the baseline; Magpul PMAG GL9s are the training value. For Full Size, Glock 17 17-round mags fit flush.

Micro magazines are different: The Dagger Micro shares the G43X/G48 magazine pattern. The PSA OEM Dagger Micro 15-round magazine fits flush, holds 15 rounds, and does NOT require a Shield Arms steel mag catch swap. Shield Arms S15 magazines do the same job in steel but require the steel catch upgrade for long-term reliability. If you are buying Micro mags from scratch, the PSA OEM mag is the cheaper, simpler path.

How many magazines you need: Two for carry minimum. Three for home defense. Ten for range training so a class never stops for reloads. Track magazine round counts so you know when to retire a feed spring.

Budget build (~$205): Light and a real holster. The minimum a Dagger needs to leave the safe as a defensive pistol. Mid build (~$609): Adds an optic and a flat-face trigger. This is the sweet spot for most carry Daggers. Premium build (~$1,384): Adds threaded barrel, comp, premium light, and a Dagger-specific magwell, total cost stays under the price of a factory Glock 19 Gen 3.

Best Glock 19 Upgrades 2026 - The Dagger Compact runs on Glock 19 Gen 3 internals, so most triggers, barrels, and magazines in the G19 guide cross-fit the Dagger Compact directly. Magwells and holsters do not, that is what this guide is for.

Best Glock 43X Upgrades 2026 - The Dagger Micro shares the G43X/G48 fire control group and magazine pattern. The slimline trigger options and S15 magazine picks in the 43X guide cross-fit the Dagger Micro.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are PSA Daggers so cheap?
PSA produces the Dagger in-house at high volume on Gen 3 Glock 19 tooling, with polymer frame ergonomics modified to avoid patent issues. Cost is roughly half a factory Glock 19 because PSA owns the frame, slide, and barrel production end-to-end. Reliability has been broadly positive in long-term reviews; the Dagger Compact, Full Size, and Micro accept most Glock Gen 3 internals and magazines.
What should I upgrade first on a PSA Dagger?
Upgrade in this order: (1) optic on an OR slide (Holosun 507C X2 for Compact/Full RMR cut; Holosun 507K X2 for Micro Shield RMSc cut) at $309-$329, biggest accuracy gain; (2) weapon light (Streamlight TLR-7A for Compact/Full, TLR-7 Sub for Micro) at $135-$159, essential for defensive carry; (3) Dagger-specific AIWB holster like the Tulster Profile at $70, because Glock 19 holsters do NOT reliably fit the Dagger trigger guard; (4) flat-face trigger (Overwatch Precision DAT for Compact/Full at $95, or Overwatch DAT G43X/48 for Micro); (5) PSA OEM threaded barrel ($129) plus Tyrant Uni-Comp ($72) if you want a comp.
Is the PSA Dagger just as good as a Glock 19?
The PSA Dagger Compact runs on Gen 3 Glock 19 internals and accepts the same magazines, but the polymer frame ergonomics, trigger guard envelope, and grip geometry differ enough that standard Glock 19 magwells, frame plugs, and a meaningful subset of Glock 19 holsters do NOT fit. Slide internals, barrels, triggers, and connectors mostly drop in as Gen 3 parts. The Dagger Compact sells for about $300; a factory Glock 19 Gen 3 is roughly $550. For most recreational shooters and budget defensive carry, the Dagger delivers comparable reliability at half the price.
What parts are compatible with a PSA Dagger?
The Dagger Compact and Full Size accept Glock 19 Gen 3 magazines (15-round and 17-round, including Magpul PMAG GL9), most Gen 3 trigger shoes such as the Overwatch Precision DAT (Overwatch explicitly lists Glock-pattern clones), Glock dovetail front and rear sights, and any Picatinny rail accessory. They do NOT accept Glock 19 magwells (Dagger frame geometry is different) or most Glock 19 hard-sided Kydex holsters. The Dagger Micro accepts Glock 43X/48 magazines including the Shield Arms S15 (with the steel mag catch) and the PSA Dagger Micro 15-round magazine (no steel catch required). All Dagger OR slides on Compact and Full Size are RMR cut; Micro slides are Shield RMSc cut.
Will Glock 19 holsters fit the PSA Dagger Compact?
No, not reliably. The PSA Dagger Compact has a slightly different trigger guard envelope than the Glock 19, so most hard-sided Kydex holsters that rely on trigger guard retention will not fit correctly. Use a holster specifically cut for the Dagger Compact: Tulster Profile ($70), Vedder LightTuck ($70), and T.Rex Arms Sidecar 2.0 ($140) all offer Dagger-specific shells. Soft fabric holsters can sometimes work for both, but never carry a Dagger in a Kydex holster cut for a Glock unless the manufacturer explicitly lists both platforms.
What optic footprint does the PSA Dagger Compact OR slide use?
The PSA Dagger Compact and Full Size optics-ready (SW1 and SW2) slides are cut for the Trijicon RMR footprint. Compatible direct-fit optics include the Holosun 507C X2 ($309), Trijicon RMR Type 2 ($539), and Trijicon RMR HD. The PSA Dagger Micro is cut for the Shield RMSc / Holosun K footprint instead, Holosun 507K X2 fits, but RMR-pattern optics do not. The two footprints are not interchangeable; do not attempt to file an RMR optic to fit a K cut.
