The 9mm JAKL SD is a direct-blowback pistol built around PSA's AR-V lower rather than a standard 5.56 JAKL lower. It feeds from PSA U9 and compatible CZ Scorpion-pattern magazines, and the included magazine holds 35 rounds. The recoil system is captured in the monolithic upper, leaving a rear Picatinny interface for the folding triangle brace.
The 6.5-inch barrel sits inside an extended handguard with a 1.8-inch inside diameter. PSA ships the pistol with an extended flash can, which can be removed to expose the 1/2x28 muzzle thread for a compatible 9mm suppressor. The handguard must have enough clearance around the selected suppressor, and heat builds quickly when a can is tucked under a rail.
