Taurus
Competition-ready .22 LR with factory compensator, optic plates, 16+1 capacity, threaded barrel
0-10 Scale Across 8 Axes
The Taurus TX22 Competition ships ready for Steel Challenge and rimfire competition without aftermarket work. The factory compensator reduces the already-minimal .22 LR muzzle rise, allowing faster transitions between targets. Optic mounting plates for both RMR/507C and Shield RMSc footprints are included in the box.
The 5.25-inch barrel (measured with compensator) provides a longer sight radius than the standard TX22. The threaded barrel underneath the comp means removing the compensator converts the gun into a suppressor host. 16+1 capacity from the same reliable magazine design as the standard TX22 means fewer reloads during competition stages.
The striker trigger at approximately 4 lbs is the TX22 Competition's main limitation for serious competition use. It is adequate for recreational matches but lacks the crispness and short reset of dedicated competition triggers. The $449 price represents a $150 premium over the standard TX22, which is reasonable given the included compensator and optic plates.
