Overview
Federal AutoMatch exists for one reason: feeding semi-automatic .22s with fewer failures to cycle than promotional bulk ammo. The 40gr lead round nose leaves the muzzle at 1,200 fps, and Federal builds it for autoloaders, which helps a 10/22 or TX22 run through a 325-round pack without constant clearing drills.
The round-nose solid profile feeds from rotary, stick, and drum magazines without the hang-ups hollow points occasionally cause in older designs. This is not a hunting or defensive load; the solid bullet is built for paper, steel, and trigger time, not terminal expansion.
Use AutoMatch for high-volume practice where reliable cycling matters more than match accuracy or terminal expansion. Keep Mini-Mag on hand for small game and reserve AutoMatch for the days you burn through hundreds of rounds.
