Wilson Combat's Protector Carbine in .300 HAM'R is a legacy Wilson AR-15 hunting configuration built around the company's proprietary .30-caliber cartridge. Bill Wilson engineered .300 HAM'R by necking up .223 Remington to .30 caliber, producing a cartridge that pushes 125-grain hunting bullets at strong medium-game velocities from a 16-inch barrel. It is designed to give hunters .30-30-like to near-.308 performance from the AR-15 envelope while preserving standard AR-15 lower compatibility.

The Protector Carbine uses a Wilson Combat match-grade stainless steel 16.25-inch barrel with 1:15 twist, threaded 5/8x24 for suppressors.
