Sig Sauer SIG516 G3 11.5" SBR

The SIG516 G3 11.5-inch SBR is the factory-stocked short rifle in the same piston family as the 16-inch Mohawk and the 11.5-inch pistol. It uses the same short-stroke pushrod and 3-position gas valve, so you can step the port down under a suppressor and open it for a dirty gun or weak ammo. Combustion gas stays forward of the receiver.

The difference from the pistol SKU is the stock. This configuration ships as a short-barreled rifle with a Magpul DT six-position stock, so federal registration and the applicable state and local limits are part of buying it. The 11.5-inch cold-hammer-forged barrel is 1:7 twist with a SIG flash hider-compensator on 1/2x28. Controls are ambidextrous, with a non-reciprocating side charging handle beside the rear handle. The free-float M-LOK handguard and Matchlite Duo curved trigger match the rest of the G3 line.

Shouldering a stocked 11.5 is the reason to pay the SBR path instead of running the pistol. The blast and flash are the same length-driven problem, so a suppressor is still the usual next part. Pick the pistol SKU if you want this action without an NFA stamp.
