Corvus Defensio
AUG-specific QD sling attachment that replaces the factory retaining bolt and stops the sling from twisting over repeated slinging cycles.
The factory Steyr AUG rear sling loop is functional but has two problems for modern users. First, attaching a sling to it requires threading the strap through the loop, which is slow compared to a quick-detach swivel. Second, the factory retaining bolt the loop is mounted to has rotational freedom, which means after repeated slinging and unslinging cycles the sling twists into a knot.
The Corvus Defensio Anti-Rotation QD Sling Attachment replaces the factory retaining bolt with an AUG-specific drop-in part that adds a QD socket and eliminates the rotation. Construction is hard-anodized 7075 aluminum with a steel retaining bolt for strength. The QD socket accepts any standard sling QD swivel, and the anti-rotation feature prevents the bolt from spinning under sling load.
Note that twisting is only fully prevented if the front sling mount also has limited rotation. The Corvus Defensio M1 Receiver Rail and the Manticore Arms Cantilever Forend both provide non-rotating QD attachment points up front. For a fully QD-equipped AUG with no sling twist, run this rear attachment with one of those front mounts. The part is a niche import from Austria but available through Corvus direct and Steyr Arms USA. €65 EUR converts to roughly $75 USD plus shipping.
