Hogue Tamer Pistol Grip (Mossberg 500/590)

The Hogue Tamer replaces the factory pistol grip on any Mossberg 500/590/835/Maverick 88 or Shockwave with a cushioned rubber over-mold that absorbs the recoil energy the hard factory polymer transmits directly into the palm and wrist. On a full-size stocked shotgun, this is a comfort upgrade. On a Shockwave with no stock to absorb recoil, the Tamer makes the difference between a painful shooting session and a manageable one.

The grip uses Hogue's cobblestone texture with molded finger grooves for a positive purchase in wet conditions, gloved hands, or sweaty range sessions. Installation is a drop-in swap that requires loosening the factory grip bolt, removing the old grip, and threading the Tamer onto the same receiver stud. No gunsmithing, no permanent modification.

The Tamer is a standard pistol grip shape, not a bird's head like the factory Shockwave Raptor. Shooters who prefer the Raptor's wrist angle for hip-shooting should keep the factory grip. Shooters who want recoil absorption and a more conventional grip angle should switch to the Tamer.
