Magpul MOE Carbine Stock

The Magpul MOE (Magpul Original Equipment) Carbine Stock provides a basic, affordable upgrade over mil-spec M4 stocks. At 8.3 ounces and approximately $35, it offers improved ergonomics including a streamlined A-frame profile that avoids snagging and a shielded release latch to prevent accidental activation. The stock provides 3.3 inches of length of pull adjustment and includes a standard 0.30-inch rubber buttpad for positive shoulder purchase.

While the MOE stock represents a step up from basic mil-spec stocks, it lacks the advanced features found in Magpul's upgraded offerings. There's no friction lock system like the CTR, no enhanced cheek weld like the SL, and no storage like the STR or ACS models. The MOE is essentially what you get with entry-level complete rifles - functional and reliable, but basic. Very little stock wiggle is present, and the rubber buttpad cushions just enough for general use.

For budget builds or shooters who just need a simple upgrade from mil-spec stocks, the MOE delivers Magpul quality at an accessible price point. However, most experienced shooters recommend spending an extra $15-25 for the CTR or MOE SL, which provide friction lock or anti-rattle features that significantly improve the shooting experience. The MOE works fine, but better options exist at modest price increases.
