Overview
The UpLULA is the magazine loader most pistol shooters end up owning. One tool covers 9mm Luger through .45 ACP in both double-stack and single-stack mags, which is the right scope for anyone running a modern duty or carry pistol. The polymer body is non-marring against finished feed lips, and the geometry doesn't require gorilla strength to seat the last few rounds in a 17-round mag.
Mechanically, the UpLULA grips the next round, pulls the follower down via a thumb lever, and releases the round into the mag in one motion. Loading a fresh 17-round mag takes about 20 seconds with no thumb fatigue, which matters more on a 500-round practice session than on a single mag. It also functions as an unloader by reversing the motion to strip rounds without thumb-walking them off the feed lips.
Limitations are narrow. The UpLULA doesn't fit .22 LR pistol magazines, .25 ACP, .32 ACP, or very narrow .380 ACP magazines under 1/2 inch wide; those need the BabyUpLULA (UP64). It also won't load tube-fed .22 rifles or revolver cylinders.
