Magpul BEV Block

The Magpul BEV (Barrel Extension Vise) Block provides an affordable, compact alternative to expensive reaction rods for AR-15/M4 upper receiver work. This innovative tool engages the barrel extension with solid steel lugs and a full-length support shank to prevent flexing during barrel nut installation and removal. By clamping directly to the barrel extension rather than the upper receiver's external surfaces, the BEV Block transfers torque forces away from the receiver, protecting the aluminum from damage during high-force operations.

The split clamshell design allows for easy installation around the barrel extension without requiring barrel removal, making it ideal for both new builds and maintenance on assembled uppers. All engagement surfaces except the steel lugs are made from Magpul's reinforced polymer, which protects aluminum receivers from scratching or marring during use. The steel lug hardness is optimized for durability while remaining soft enough not to damage the barrel extension, ensuring the block can be used repeatedly without causing wear to your barrel.

The BEV Block's versatility extends beyond upper receiver work. When flipped over, it functions as a magazine well vise block to support the lower receiver during maintenance operations, providing stable clamping for trigger group installation, buffer tube work, and general lower receiver maintenance. An O-ring post uses the bolt carrier for additional stability, while an included pin keeps the upper in the proper position during work. At approximately 11 ounces, the BEV Block offers exceptional portability compared to heavy steel reaction rods, making it an excellent choice for mobile armorers and home builders who need professional-level functionality without the bulk.
