RCBS
The default rifle die set and the one most reloaders should buy first. A full-length sizer with an expander-decapping unit plus a seater die, sizing to SAAMI minimum on standard 7/8-14 threads for well under a hundred dollars.
The RCBS Group A full-length die set is the die set to buy if you are buying one. It contains the two dies a bottleneck rifle cartridge actually requires: a full-length sizing die with an expander-decapping unit that sizes the case body, punches the spent primer, and expands the neck to accept a bullet, and a seater die with a bullet seater plug. RCBS sizes these dies to SAAMI minimum, which is what makes the resulting ammunition chamber in any correctly headspaced rifle rather than only in the barrel that fired the brass. The die body is vented so lubricant and trapped air cannot dent a case shoulder on the downstroke, a failure mode that ruins brass in unvented dies. Threads are the standard 7/8-14 that every press in common use accepts. Nothing here is exotic, and that is the point: it produces ammunition indistinguishable from factory on a hunting or general-purpose rifle at a price that makes the rest of the bench affordable.
