Franklin Armory BFSIII AR-Essential Binary Trigger

The Franklin Armory BFSIII AR-Essential is the lower-cost AR-pattern binary trigger in Franklin's BFSIII lineup. In binary mode the trigger fires one round when pulled and a second round when the trigger is released; the three-position selector switches between safe, standard semi-auto, and binary on the fly. Moving the selector out of binary before releasing the trigger aborts the release shot, preserving a safe stop on a misidentified target. Pull weight runs about 4.5 lb, give or take half a pound, in binary mode.

The AR-Essential's defining feature is its mil-spec style single-sided safety selector paddle, which targets AR traditionalists who want familiar manual-of-arms ergonomics rather than the wider selectors found on some binary triggers. It drops into mil-spec AR-15 lowers and reuses the standard fire control pocket, so installation is a competent home-gunsmith job. Unlike some competitor binary systems, the AR-Essential does not require a proprietary bolt carrier group; a standard AR-15 BCG runs it.

At $299.99 MSRP it undercuts the AR-ELITE ($429.99) while delivering the same one-on-pull, one-on-release binary function, which is why it reads as the value entry in the line. This is a range and competition tool that roughly doubles practical rate of fire; it is not appropriate for any duty or defensive use.
