SIG P365-DH3: Daniel Horner Signature Series at SHOT Show 2026

Daniel Horner is one of the most decorated competitive shooters in American history. A former Special Forces soldier, Horner transitioned from the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit to professional competition shooting, accumulating an unprecedented record of national and international titles.

His achievements include multiple 3-Gun Nation championships, USPSA national titles across multiple divisions, and consistent podium finishes in international multi-gun competitions. When SIG Sauer wanted to develop a competition-inspired carry pistol, Horner was the natural choice to lead the project.

The defining feature of the DH3 series is the slide-integrated expansion chamber paired with a 3.7" barrel. Unlike traditional compensators that add length and require holster compatibility considerations, the expansion chamber is machined directly into the slide, maintaining a compact profile while delivering meaningful recoil mitigation.

The engineering approach redirects propellant gases to counteract muzzle rise, enabling faster follow-up shots while maintaining the balance and handling characteristics the P365 platform is known for. This is the same principle used in competition builds, now factory-integrated for reliability and consistency.

The P365XF-DH3 builds on the proven P365 ergonomics with a coyote polymer grip module featuring a 1913 accessory rail, removable magwell, and interchangeable backstraps in small, medium, and large sizes. This variant prioritizes lightweight carry without sacrificing the grip and control features that competitive shooters demand.

For shooters who prefer the heft and balance of a metal-framed pistol, the P365-DH3 AXG features SIG's modular alloy grip chassis. The AXG (Alloy X Grip) module delivers enhanced balance, a more substantial feel in hand, and reduced perceived recoil compared to the polymer variant.

The AXG variant delivers everything the polymer model offers with the added benefit of the alloy chassis: reduced muzzle flip from the additional weight, improved balance point, and the premium feel that metal-framed pistol enthusiasts expect.

Both variants share the same slide, barrel, expansion chamber, optics mounting, and sights. The only difference is the grip module material and the resulting weight distribution. For most shooters, this comes down to personal preference in how the pistol feels in hand and whether you prioritize lightweight carry or enhanced recoil control.

Both DH3 variants feature the SIG-LOC compact footprint for optic mounting. This standardized mounting pattern allows seamless integration of SIG's Romeo-X series and other compatible compact red dots without adapter plates.

The X-RAY3 day/night sights serve as co-witness irons, providing rapid target acquisition in any lighting condition whether running an optic or not. The tritium front sight paired with the serrated rear delivers a classic combat sight picture.
