The SIG P385 is a new 9mm striker-fired pistol that combines elements of the P320 and P365. SIG Sauer unveiled it at SIG NEXT on September 22, 2026, in five models: MACH3D, COMP, FULL, CARRY, and COMPACT. It runs standard P320 magazines, has a SIG-LOC PRO optic cut on every slide, and starts at $599.
The name is the formula: P320 + P365 = P385. The pistol gets a new fire control unit (FCU) with a patented trigger block, a new MAGSTRAP grip module, fully ambidextrous controls, and the SIG Recoil Dampening System (SRDS). Every model comes in black or Coyote Brown, with or without a manual thumb safety.

SIG P385 Models and Specs
All five P385 models are 9mm, and four of them use a 4-inch barrel. The P385-FULL is the exception at 4.7 inches. The models differ in compensation, grip length, and how many magazines come in the box.
| Model | Barrel | Slide | Grip module | Magazines included |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| P385-MACH3D | 4 in, MACH3D compensator | SIG-LOC PRO optic-ready | Standard MAGSTRAP | (1) 17 rd + (2) 21 rd |
| P385-COMP | 4 in | Integrally compensated, SIG-LOC PRO | Standard MAGSTRAP | (1) 17 rd + (2) 21 rd |
| P385-FULL | 4.7 in | SIG-LOC PRO optic-ready | Standard MAGSTRAP | (1) 17 rd + (1) 21 rd |
| P385-CARRY | 4 in | SIG-LOC PRO optic-ready | Standard MAGSTRAP | (1) 17 rd + (1) 21 rd |
| P385-COMPACT | 4 in | SIG-LOC PRO, aggressive serrations | Shorter compact MAGSTRAP | (2) 15 rd |
The P385-MACH3D carries SIG's MACH3D compensator, which SIG says cuts muzzle rise by more than 30%. The P385-COMP moves the compensation into the slide itself. The P385-COMPACT keeps the 4-inch barrel but pairs it with a shorter MAGSTRAP grip and 15-round magazines, giving it the shortest grip of the family.

What Is New: FCU, Trigger Block, SRDS and MAGSTRAP
The P385 is a new design built around a new fire control unit, rather than a P320 or P365 variant. SIG pairs the FCU with a patented SIG Trigger Block and describes the trigger press as smooth and clean.
The FCU sits in the new MAGSTRAP grip module, which SIG says adjusts for both grip length and hand size. Laser-cut ReActive texturing covers the grip. SIG also calls out an extremely low bore axis, a precision-cut carbon steel barrel, and the SIG Recoil Dampening System for a softer, flatter recoil impulse.
Fully ambidextrous controls come standard on every model. Buyers choose between a pistol with or without a manual thumb safety, in black or Coyote Brown.
SIG P385 Magazines: Standard P320 Mags
The P385 uses the standard P320 magazine. SIG confirms this in its SIG NEXT material, so P320 owners can carry existing 17-round and 21-round magazines over to a full-size P385. The P385-COMPACT ships with 15-round magazines to match its shorter grip.
Magazines are the only shared part SIG has named. Holster fit, FCU swaps, and grip modules from the P320 upgrade ecosystem need their own P385-specific confirmation before you buy.

SIG P385 Optic: SIG-LOC PRO and the XRAY5
Every P385 slide is cut for SIG-LOC PRO, SIG's optic mounting system that fastens the sight from underneath the slide. SIG shows the P385 with its new XRAY5 Advanced Red Dot Sight, which is offered in SIG-LOC PRO and SIG-LOC COMPACT versions.
That pairing was visible before launch: SIG's XRAY5 FAQ material listed the P385 as a SIG-LOC PRO host in August. Our SIG XRAY5 report covers the sight's 225-dot digital zero and its LightFight pairing with the FOXTROT2R weapon light.
