RIX is preparing to bring its new NANO N6 thermal clip-on to the U.S. market, and an FCC filing has given us an early look at exactly what is coming.
On June 4, 2026, the FCC granted FCC ID 2A7ZZ-NN00-00 to Visir Inc. for a device described as a “THERMAL IMAGING ATTACHMENT.”
There is no mystery about what that device is. The user manual submitted with the filing identifies it directly as the RIX NANO N6 and prints the same FCC ID in the regulatory section.
Visir is also the company behind RIX in the United States. It explicitly states that it owns and operates RIX Optics and RIX Tactical.
The NANO N6 has already launched in Europe. What has not happened yet is its appearance on RIX's U.S. storefront.
Taken together, the picture is fairly obvious: RIX has a finished product on sale overseas, and its U.S. parent company has now completed FCC authorization for that same product ahead of its American release.

The NANO N6 is a compact 640-class thermal attachment designed to work either as a front-mounted thermal clip-on or as a standalone handheld thermal monocular.

The headline specification is the combination of a 640×512, 12-micron sensor with ≤15 mK NETD, a 50 mm F/1.0 objective and an integrated 1,500-meter laser rangefinder.
RIX claims a human-size detection range of 2,597 meters, or approximately 2,840 yards.
That puts the NANO N6 firmly into the higher-performance end of RIX's thermal lineup rather than positioning it as another entry-level clip-on.

Integrated Laser Rangefinder and Ballistic Features
The FCC manual also exposes considerably more functionality than the basic sensor specifications.
The NANO N6 includes an integrated 905 nm laser rangefinder rated to 1,500 meters, along with ballistic profiles and ballistic-calculation functionality.

For users running a clip-on in front of a conventional daytime optic, the integrated LRF is particularly useful. It eliminates the need to hang another standalone rangefinder off the rifle or break position to range a target.
The NANO also uses a removable 18650 battery, which is a welcome choice for a field optic. Spare cells are cheap, widely available and easily swapped rather than requiring the user to depend entirely on an internal rechargeable battery.
A Compact 640 Thermal Clip-On
The size of the NANO N6 may be nearly as important as its sensor.
RIX's current European specification puts the optic at approximately 435 grams, or just under one pound, with a body roughly 100 mm long.
That is relatively compact for a 640-resolution thermal clip-on with an integrated LRF.
A front-mounted thermal necessarily adds weight ahead of the day optic, so reducing the size and mass of the unit matters considerably more here than it would on a handheld monocular.
The NANO uses an M52 attachment interface, allowing it to be mounted ahead of a compatible daytime scope using the appropriate adapter.
It can then be removed from the rifle and used independently as a thermal monocular.

The NANO N6 Is Already on Sale in Europe
The NANO N6 is not an unreleased prototype.
RIX's European operation already has a dedicated NANO N6 product listing, and European retailers have begun selling the optic at approximately €2,499.
RIX introduced the NANO alongside several of its other thermal products as it expanded further into the German, Austrian and Swiss markets during 2026.
That makes the FCC filing particularly useful from a U.S. perspective.
We are not looking at an experimental device that may or may not make it into production. The production NANO N6 exists, it has already reached retailers, and RIX's U.S. corporate entity has certified it with the FCC.
The remaining question is when RIX puts it on sale here.

The U.S. Storefront Hasn’t Caught Up Yet
As of August 2026, the NANO N6 does not appear on RIX Optics' current U.S. storefront.
RIX is presently selling and promoting products from its STORM, POCKET, STRIDE, TOURER, TITAN and DBH families in the United States.
The NANO line is conspicuously missing.
That discrepancy is exactly what makes the FCC filing interesting.
The European side of the business has already launched the product. The U.S. side has not announced it. In between those two events, Visir obtained FCC authorization for the NANO N6.
That is about as clear a pre-launch trail as you are likely to get without RIX simply publishing the U.S. product page early.
Some Specifications Have Already Changed
There are a few differences between the documentation submitted to the FCC and RIX's newer European product information.
The FCC manual, for example, lists 1–4× digital zoom in monocular mode, while RIX Europe describes the monocular configuration as 3–12×.
Recording-resolution figures also differ slightly between the two sources, and the FCC document lists the weight as less than 440 grams while the European specification gives a finalized figure of approximately 435 grams.
Those differences likely reflect documentation or firmware revisions made between FCC testing and the final retail launch.

What Will the RIX NANO N6 Cost in the U.S.?
RIX has not announced U.S. pricing or a release date yet.
European pricing is currently around €2,499, but that should not simply be converted into dollars and treated as the expected American MSRP. Regional taxes, distributor structure and market positioning can produce substantially different prices.
Still, the European price gives us a reasonable idea of where RIX intends the NANO to sit within the thermal market.
The NANO N6 is not being positioned as a budget optic. It is a compact 640-resolution clip-on with unusually strong sensitivity figures and an integrated long-range LRF, aimed at buyers who want significantly more capability than an entry-level thermal attachment.
RIX’s Next U.S. Thermal Is Hiding in Plain Sight
There is very little speculation required here.
RIX has already launched the NANO N6 overseas. Visir, RIX's U.S. parent company, has obtained FCC authorization for the exact same product. The only thing missing is the U.S. announcement and product page.
When it arrives, the NANO N6 will give RIX a particularly interesting entry in the American thermal clip-on market: a compact 640×512 / 12 µm thermal attachment with ≤15 mK NETD, a 50 mm lens and an integrated 1,500-meter laser rangefinder.
For now, RIX hasn't told U.S. customers when they can buy it.
