Overview
Hornady American Gunner 300 AAC Blackout 125-grain HP Match is a high-volume supersonic load for range work, practical rifle competition, and function testing. The 125gr hollow point match bullet is built for accuracy and consistent feeding rather than controlled hunting expansion, making it a better fit for training than for deer or defensive terminal performance.
Hornady lists item 80897 at 2,175 fps from a 16-inch barrel, with 1,313 ft-lbs of muzzle energy and a 0.320 G1 ballistic coefficient. That puts it close to the familiar 110gr V-MAX trajectory window while using a heavier 125gr match-style projectile and 50-round American Gunner packaging.
For shooters who want a repeatable supersonic .300 Blackout practice load with more useful bulk packaging than 20-round defensive boxes, American Gunner 125gr HP Match is a practical baseline. For hunting or defensive use, choose an expanding load such as Barnes TAC-TX, Hornady Sub-X, or another purpose-built terminal projectile.
