Magtech
Brazilian-made brass-cased training ammo that punches above its price point. Magtech manufactures its own brass, primers, powder, and projectiles in-house, giving it consistent quality control from raw material to finished cartridge.
Magtech is a vertically integrated ammunition manufacturer based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, owned by CBC (Companhia Brasileira de Cartuchos). Unlike most ammunition brands that source components from multiple suppliers, Magtech manufactures its own brass, primers, powder, and projectiles under one roof. This vertical integration produces remarkable consistency for a budget-priced product.
The 115-grain FMJ runs at 1,135 fps, slightly below domestic competitors but consistent across lots. Magtech's brass cases are well-regarded among reloaders for uniform wall thickness and proper annealing. The clean-burning powder produces less fouling than many competitors, and the consistent primer quality keeps failure-to-fire rates extremely low.
Magtech ships in 50-round boxes and bulk cases. Brazilian manufacturing keeps pricing competitive at $0.24-0.28 per round, comparable to Blazer Brass while offering what many shooters consider slightly better brass quality for reloading. Import availability can occasionally fluctuate, but Magtech maintains strong US distribution through its parent company.
