Underwood
Solid copper monolithic Lehigh Xtreme Penetrator bullet at 1,500 fps. Designed to drive 24-28 inches of straight-line penetration with a fluted nose that cuts tissue without expansion, ideal for handgun hunting and woods carry.
Underwood's 10mm Xtreme Penetrator uses Lehigh Defense's solid copper monolithic bullet, a 140gr projectile machined from a single piece of solid copper with fluted nose grooves. The bullet does not expand; instead, the fluted nose displaces tissue hydraulically as the bullet drives through, creating a wide permanent wound channel without sacrificing penetration.
At 1,500 fps and 700 ft-lbs of muzzle energy, this is one of the highest-velocity 10mm loads in production. The solid copper construction means there's no lead, no jacket separation, and no bullet deformation under any impact condition. In calibrated ballistic gel, Underwood reports 24-28 inches of consistent penetration with a wide wound channel throughout the entire path.
This is the load to pick when you want hard cast levels of penetration without the lead, or when you want a hunting-capable monolithic bullet that holds together through heavy bone. It's an excellent choice for handgun hunting on hogs and medium game, and a strong woods-defense alternative to hard cast for shooters who don't want to deal with lead fouling. The high velocity and modest 140gr weight produce sharp but manageable recoil from a full-size 10mm pistol.
