PROOF Research PR10 Carbon Fiber Barrel 18" .308 Win

The 18-inch PR10 CF in .308 Winchester is the AR-10 SPR barrel: short enough to handle from kneeling and positional shooting, long enough to keep .308 velocity reasonable out to 800 yards, and light enough that the rifle does not turn into a sandbag. At approximately 2 lb 9 oz, the barrel saves more than a pound versus a comparable 18-inch steel bull contour, which has a real effect on how the rifle carries on a hunt or a long-day match.

PROOF builds the PR10 around a 416R stainless match liner under aerospace carbon fiber, with the same CAMGAS gas-port tuning as the rest of the PR-series. Rifle-length gas at 18 inches is the conventional choice and is well-suited to standard 150-178gr .308 match loads, including 175gr SMK, 168gr A-Max, and 178gr ELD-M. The 1:10 twist is the .308 standard and stabilizes everything from light hunting bullets through heavy match projectiles.

5/8-24 muzzle threads accept any .30-cal can or muzzle device directly. The barrel ships DPMS-pattern; verify upper compatibility before ordering, particularly on older Armalite AR-10A platforms. Buyers running suppressors should note the carbon wrap helps shed heat under the can but does not eliminate it, the barrel still gets hot under sustained suppressed fire, and the carbon surface is more delicate than steel under direct impact.
