Aero Precision
Full-auto M16-profile .308 carrier in black nitride. The full-auto carrier underside is what reliably resets a forced-reset trigger in an AR-10.
Aero Precision builds this .308 Winchester / 7.62x51 NATO bolt carrier group on a full-auto M16-profile carrier, machined from 8620 steel and finished in slick black nitride for corrosion resistance and easy cleanup. The bolt is Carpenter 158 steel and the gas key is properly staked, the same construction standard Aero uses across its AR-10 component line. It drops into DPMS Gen 1, LR-308, and SR-25 pattern uppers.
The full-auto profile is the entire point of this carrier for forced-reset trigger builds. An FRT relies on the carrier's full-auto underside to mechanically push the trigger back into reset on every cycle. A semi-auto or AR-15-cut .308 carrier lacks that extended underside, so it will not reliably reset the trigger. An AR-15-pattern forced-reset trigger will physically fit an LR-308/SR-25 lower on standard 0.154 inch pins, but it only resets correctly when paired with an M16-profile .308 carrier like this one.
Black nitride runs cleaner and harder than phosphate, which matters on a carrier cycling fast under an FRT. For builders assembling a forced-reset AR-10 in .308 or 7.62x51, this carrier is the non-negotiable gating component; the trigger choice is secondary to getting the full-auto carrier right.
