The Colt SP64028 is the complete bolt carrier group Colt sells into the commercial channel, and it matters for one reason: issued MK18, SOPMOD Block I and II, and URGI rifles run Colt-supplied carriers. If you are photo-matching a specific reference rifle rather than building in the general style of one, this is the carrier that belongs in it.
Mechanically it is a mil-spec M16-profile carrier group with a chrome-lined carrier bore and gas key, a properly staked gas key, a black parkerized finish, and HPT and MPI testing. It ships complete rather than stripped, and drops into any standard AR-15 or M16-pattern upper chambered in 5.56 NATO, .223 Remington, or .300 Blackout.
One thing to know before ordering: Colt markings vary between production runs. Some carriers show the Colt "C" roll mark with MPC or MPC-2 bolt stamps, others ship with a white dot on the bolt and no external carrier marking. If a specific marking is the point of the purchase, buy from somewhere that will show you the actual unit.
