Modular Chest Rig Kit (MCR LTE)

The MCR Kit is the fixed-front member of the Modular Chest Rig family and the one to start with if the Tubes quick-release on the split kit is not something you will use. Construction is the same story: B52 and Squadron laminate for a chassis that is rigid rather than floppy, with 8-layer Tegris reinforcement concentrated at the mounting points where a loaded rig tries to tear itself apart. Full MOLLE compatibility across the face means the pouch layout is yours to decide rather than fixed by the maker.

Where the split kit buys you speed of don and doff, the fixed front buys you simplicity and about thirty dollars. There is no FirstSpear Tubes hardware in the front to fail or replace, and for a shooter who puts the rig on at the truck and takes it off at the end of the day, the Tubes release solves a problem they do not have. The rig still uses GBRS's own I and W joints throughout, which the company sells separately if you lose one. Prone access is the real tradeoff: the split front opens flat in a way a fixed chassis does not.

It arrives as a kit rather than an assembled rig, with a generous assortment of I and W joints for building out the harness and pouch layout. Plan on an evening with the instructions the first time. GBRS holds U.S. Patent No. 12,635,783 on the design, and the rig is Berry compliant, designed, manufactured, and assembled in America.
