GBRS Group
10.6 oz laminate plate split into two halves joined by First Spear Tubes fasteners. Don and doff fully loaded in under five seconds. Spiritus-footprint compatible so it speaks to the broadest placard ecosystem.
The GBRS Group Modular Chest Rig Split Kit takes the Spiritus placard footprint and adds two key features: a split-front design and First Spear Tubes fasteners. The chest plate splits into a left and right half held together by Tubes — a magnetic-clip system that snaps closed under tension. Pull the cord and the rig opens. Don't and doff is dramatically faster than a fixed-front rig, especially over body armor or under a backpack.
The LTE laminate plate is the construction headline. GBRS uses Squadron 500/1000 and B52 laminate reinforced with 8-layer Tegris thermoplastic, which produces a chassis that is dramatically more rigid than nylon-only construction. At 10.6 oz the plate weighs less than most fabric chassis alone, and the rigidity keeps magazine inserts indexed where you placed them rather than letting them collapse under load.
The MCR is a chassis. The kit includes the split-front laminate plate and the harness hardware, but mag pouches, placards, and inserts are bought separately. GBRS recommends running Spiritus mag inserts directly in the chassis since the footprint matches. OpticsPlanet stocks the Multicam variant under AWIN affiliate routing; GBRS-direct ships in the LTE and PRO trims.
The PRO version of the MCR is a heavier variant with additional reinforcement; the LTE is the standard-weight production trim that most buyers should start with.
