AS Designs M2 Super Safety Kit

The AS Designs M2 Super Safety Kit is the value entry in the AR-15 forced reset selector field. It is a selector-based forced reset in the open-source Hoffman Tactical Super Safety pattern, which AS Designs credits by name: the cam and lever take the place of the safety selector and use the bolt carrier's movement to reset the trigger, while the rifle stays semi-automatic at one round per trigger function. The three-position layout follows the standard Super Safety pattern of Safe, Semi, and an enhanced third position.

The M2 in the name is the steel. Both wear parts, the cam and the lever, are machined from heat-treated M2 high-speed tool steel and DLC coated, a harder wear package than the 4140 alloy typical at this price. The kit also solves the usual Super Safety fitting chore: a pre-cut trigger ships in the box alongside a rounded safety detent and a PLA Pro centering block, so there is no filing your own trigger tail to clear the cam. You reuse your existing hammer, disconnector, and springs. AS Designs recommends installation by a qualified gunsmith.
