Heresy Design SBF Safety Selector for Steyr AUG

The factory Steyr AUG A3 M1 safety selector is a cross-bolt button with sharp molded edges that cut and scratch the trigger finger over extended range sessions. The Heresy Design SBF Safety Selector keeps the same factory dimensions and operating mechanism but adds smooth tapered edges and aggressive surface texture on both the safe and fire faces.

Construction is machined 6061 aluminum with MilSpec Type II anodizing. Installation is drop-in: push the factory selector out and push the Heresy replacement in. No fitting required. The selector retains the factory cross-bolt geometry and the trigger finger reaches the new button at the same position as factory, which means no retraining is required to operate the safety in a hurry.

The grip texture is aggressive enough that gloved hands and wet hands engage the selector positively without slipping. The tapered edges eliminate the sharp factory corners. This is a quality-of-life upgrade rather than a critical fix, but at $30 it is the cheapest meaningful AUG control upgrade and pairs naturally with the Heresy Extended Magazine Release for shooters who run the rifle in duty or competition use.
