Geissele Super Gas Block

The Geissele Super Gas Block is the part you buy when set screws walking loose has cost you a range trip. It is machined from 17-4 stainless steel and uses set-screw mounting, but Geissele's distinguishing move is a coil pin that, once installed, locks the block to the barrel in a way no set screw can match. Drill the barrel for the pin and the block is effectively permanent, which is the point on a duty or competition rifle that sees real heat and recoil.

This is a .750-only block and it is not a clamp-on design; the retention story is set screws plus the optional coil pin, not a journal clamp. The 17-4 stainless resists heat and corrosion better than phosphate or even nitride commodity blocks, and the price reflects Geissele's material and tolerance standards rather than any adjustability, because the block does not adjust gas.

For a high-round-count duty carbine, a competition rifle, or any build where a gas block coming loose is unacceptable, the Super Gas Block is the premium fixed pick. Budget carbines do not need it; serious hard-use guns benefit from the coil-pin retention.
