Odin Works Adjustable AR-10 Buffer, Stainless Steel - OS-ABS-AR10
The ODIN Works AR-10 Adjustable Buffer lets a builder set total buffer weight anywhere from 3.45 to 4.65 oz on a carbine-length .308 receiver extension. The 2.60 oz buffer body accepts three included weights, aluminum at 0.22 oz, stainless at 0.63 oz, and tungsten at 1.45 oz, each secured by Allen-key set screws on the front cap. Instead of buying a fixed-weight buffer and hoping the carrier dwell lands right, you tune mass to the gas system and ammunition in front of you.
That adjustability is the point on a forced reset trigger build. An FRT couples trigger reset to bolt carrier travel, so reciprocating mass becomes a functional variable rather than a recoil preference. Too little mass and the carrier finishes its stroke before the trigger resets; the result is skipped or sluggish resets. Adding tungsten slows and regulates the carrier so the FRT completes its mechanical reset on every shot. A 16 inch .308 AR-10 carrier is heavier and the gas impulse stronger than a 5.56 carbine, which makes a dialed-in heavy buffer the practical path to consistent FRT timing on the platform.
This is the carbine-length SKU, OS-ABS-AR10, sized for a carbine-length .308 receiver extension. It is a distinct product from the rifle-length OSABSAR10RIFLE; confirm your AR-10 runs a carbine tube before ordering. Install the trigger, confirm function with the buffer at a baseline weight, then add or remove weights until resets are clean and the rifle locks back reliably on the last round.
