Midwest Industries SP Series Suppressor Compatible Handguard

The Midwest Industries SP Series is the suppressor-compatible version of MI's free-float rail line, bored out to a 1.670-inch inside diameter so a rifle can threads onto the barrel and recedes inside the handguard rather than hanging off the muzzle. That is the entire point of a suppressor-ready rail: instead of bolting a 7-inch can to the end of a 16-inch barrel and ending up with a 22-inch rifle, you run a longer handguard over a shorter barrel and tuck the suppressor underneath, keeping overall length closer to a standard carbine while gaining the sound and recoil benefits of the can.

Construction is 6061 aluminum with hard-coat anodizing and a continuous MIL-STD 1913 top rail, with M-LOK slots on seven sides for lights, hand stops, and QD sockets around the tucked can. The 1.670-inch bore does not establish compatibility on its own: Midwest specifies suppressors no larger than 1.55 inches in outside diameter. Verify your suppressor's OD and required M-LOK hardware clearance before committing. MI ships the barrel nut and wrench in the box.

Available from 7.25 inches up to 18 inches, the SP Series covers everything from short 300 BLK PDW builds to full-length 16-inch suppressed setups. At $167.95 to $225.95 depending on length, it undercuts premium suppressor rails like the SLR SD by well over $100 while delivering the same core function, which is why it sits at the top of the SERP for this category. The tradeoff against lighter options is weight: the 15-inch model runs 14.6 ounces, heavier than slim competition rails because the larger bore demands more material.
