STNGR HWK XL Suppressor Ready Handguard

The STNGR HWK XL is a suppressor-ready handguard with a 1.74-inch inside diameter. STNGR lists the 13.5-inch length at 8.7 ounces and the 15.5-inch length at 9.6 ounces. The wide tube can provide more geometric clearance than the 1.67- and 1.7-inch rails in this catalog, but suppressor fit still depends on the suppressor's OD and required hardware clearance.

The mounting system is a two-piece design: a non-timing steel barrel nut paired with an aluminum collar that supports the rail, gas tube, and barrel nut as a unit. Anti-rotation tabs and an anti-slide plate lock the rail solid without the timing headaches of older designs, and STNGR's current V2 version makes the barrel nut and collar about 30% longer for more contact area. M-LOK runs at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions, and unlike budget rails the HWK XL ships with both front and rear QD sling sockets standard rather than as an upcharge.

The 1.74-inch bore gives a 1.5-inch suppressor 0.12 inches of radial clearance. STNGR says almost any suppressor 1.64 inches OD or smaller fits, and that clearance between the handguard, suppressor, and any mounted accessories still has to be maintained. Check the suppressor manufacturer and handguard maker before selecting M-LOK accessories.
