Streamlight ProTac 2.0 Rail Mount

The Streamlight ProTac 2.0 Rail Mount is Streamlight's answer to the premium weapon light segment, delivering 2,000 lumens with a broad flood beam at around $200. It addresses several pain points from older ProTac long-gun lights: the SL-B50 battery can charge by USB-C inside or outside the light, IP67 dust and water sealing applies with the tailcap installed, and the 2,000-lumen output on high puts it ahead of many lights in this price range on raw flood.

The 17,700 candela rating means the beam profile is intentionally broad. This is a room-filling light designed for indoor use and engagements under 75 yards. Past that distance, the lower candela limits positive target identification compared to throw-oriented lights like the Cloud REIN 3.0 or SureFire Turbo. For home defense, the ProTac 2.0's flood advantage is an asset, not a limitation.

Streamlight sells light-only and system versions. The system kit includes a pressure switch, remote-retaining clips, tape, zip ties, and M-LOK mount. At $200, it delivers a lot of close-range light for the money, but it is larger and heavier than the ProTac HL-X and relies on the proprietary SL-B50 rechargeable battery rather than CR123A backup cells.
