PSA Sabre-15 Ambi Lower Receiver

The PSA Sabre-15 Ambi Lower Receiver puts the Sabre line's factory-installed ambidextrous bolt catch and release on a stripped AR-15 lower. PSA built it in response to demand after the Sabre Enhanced launch: builders wanted the ambi bolt release without the flared magwell and integral trigger guard that came with it, and without buying a matched receiver set to get it. It launched Friday, August 14, 2026 in six finishes: black anodized at $99.99, plus Burnt Bronze, Blue Titanium, Flat Dark Earth, Moss Green, and Champagne Cerakote at $119.99. The receiver is 7075-T6 aluminum and carries PSA's full lifetime warranty.

The ambidextrous bolt catch and release is the only thing installed. A paddle on the right side of the lower lets the firing hand lock the bolt to the rear and drop it without rolling the rifle or breaking the firing grip, which is the single control most AR builders otherwise add aftermarket. Everything else is a normal stripped lower: the builder supplies the lower parts kit, trigger, grip, receiver extension, and stock. There is no ambidextrous magazine release and no ambidextrous safety selector, so a fully ambidextrous rifle still needs both of those as separate parts.

PSA published one caveat with the launch. The ambi bolt catch does not use mil-spec geometry, and some rifles will need tuning to lock back on an empty magazine as a result. PSA's guidance is to close down an adjustable gas block if the build has one, or to move up in buffer weight if it does not. Both slow the bolt carrier, which gives the magazine follower time to drive the catch into the path of the bolt. Budget for a heavier buffer if the host rifle already runs overgassed.
