Magpul PMAG 30 AUS GEN M3 Window

The Magpul PMAG 30 AUS GEN M3 Window is the only widely-available third-party magazine engineered specifically for the Steyr AUG. The "AUS" suffix denotes the AUG mag well geometry, which is distinct from the standard AR-pattern PMAG. Magpul's PMAG GEN M3 reliability translates to the AUG with the same anti-tilt self-lubricating follower, stainless steel spring, and crush-resistant polymer body found in the AR variant.

Translucent windows are molded into both sides of the magazine body, aligned with witness markings for round-count assessment without removing the mag. Construction is impact-resistant polymer rated for the same drop and crush testing as the AR-pattern PMAG. The magazine drops in to Steyr AUG (A1, A2, A3, A3 M1, and standard-stock A3 M2), F88, and F90 receivers without modification.

At $26 it is the cheapest reliable AUG magazine, materially less than factory Steyr mags ($33). Most AUG owners stock a mix: factory Steyr mags for duty or defensive use, and Magpul PMAG AUS for range and training rotation. Both are reliable, the price difference is the deciding factor for most shooters. Note that this magazine will NOT fit the AR-15 mag well and is not interchangeable with standard AR PMAGs.
