Overview
The AK Alpha Railed Top Cover is the optic half of Midwest's Alpha handguard system. It replaces the factory dust cover with a rail that is anchored at the front to the Alpha handguard through two aluminum and two steel stability struts and at the rear by a factory-installed steel trunnion block with an adjustable locking block. Midwest supplies its own recoil-spring button for the cover.
Midwest lists it for use only with the MI-AK-ALPHA6 and MI-AK-ALPHA10.0 handguards; it does not fit older Midwest generations or other makers' handguards, and the handguard has to be installed first. The sight picture keeps the factory rear sight in a lower 1/3 co-witness. Installation needs no permanent modification, though Midwest notes the takedown button may need fitting to the rear trunnion.
