Overview

The Gen 2 AK Side Mount splits Midwest's side mount into a QD base and a replaceable top. This SKU ships with the Picatinny rail top; T1/T2, Mini Rail, and Rear Bias tops are sold separately, so the same base can move to a different optic later. It clamps to a standard AKM receiver rail with the patented Elite Defense QD lever, which adjusts without tools, and Midwest says it locks back to a repeat zero.

Midwest states it puts the optic on or very close to the center of the top cover on mil-spec AK rifles. It is hardcoat anodized 6061 aluminum and weighs 7.4 ounces. Yugo rifles take the separate Gen 2 Yugo AK Side Mount.
