Overview

The AK Alpha Series Optic Mount in its T2 version machines the Aimpoint T2 footprint into the mount, so a T2-pattern dot bolts on without a separate Picatinny base. Like the Railed Dot Mount, it attaches to the MI AK Alpha handguard at four points with two aluminum and two laser-cut 4140 steel stability struts, keeping the optic on the handguard rather than the dust cover and leaving the factory rear sight in a lower 1/3 co-witness.

Midwest lists it for use only with the MI-AK-ALPHA6 and MI-AK-ALPHA10.0 handguards. Picatinny-mounted optics use the MI-AK-ALPHA-RDM version instead.
