Samson
Aluminum picatinny top rail with integrated T1 footprint for low-profile red dot mounting
The Samson Hannibal Rail mounts at the receiver position rather than forward like the Amega, giving a more conventional optic placement at the cost of the chin-weld geometry that scout-mounting solves. What the Hannibal does well is offer the lowest possible mounting height for an Aimpoint Micro footprint optic on the Mini-14: the rail incorporates a T1/T2 footprint directly into the rail surface, eliminating the separate optic mount stack-up that other rail solutions impose.
Construction is 6061-T6 aluminum, anodized black, gray, or graphite depending on availability. Two versions exist: the 2007-and-earlier rifles use one mounting pattern, the 2008-and-later rifles use a different pattern. Confirm receiver year before ordering. Install is drop-in with included hardware, no gunsmithing required.
The Hannibal is the call when shooter prefers a receiver-position optic and has selected an Aimpoint T-2, Holosun 503/AEMS, or other T1-footprint optic. Owners running a long-eye-relief scope or wanting cheek-weld geometry should choose the Amega Mini-Scout-Mount instead.
