Overview
The Burris Droptine 3-9x40 Rimfire is item 200019, the 50-yard-parallax version of Burris's traditional hunting scope. Its 3-9x magnification and 40mm objective cover close plinking, small-game hunting, and longer shots from a supported position. The 13-ounce scope is 12.2 inches long, so it adds useful magnification without turning a light rimfire rifle into a heavy precision setup.
The Ballistic Plex reticle sits in the rear focal plane and adds trajectory-compensating hold marks below the center aiming point. Capped Hunter turrets adjust in 1/4 MOA clicks, with 50 MOA of total elevation and windage adjustment. The fixed 50-yard parallax keeps operation simple, but it cannot be tuned for very close targets or changing precision-stage distances.
Burris builds the scope around a waterproof, nitrogen-filled, one-piece 1-inch outer tube. The lenses use the company's Hi-Lume multicoating, and eye relief ranges from 3.1 to 3.8 inches across the magnification range. This model is non-illuminated and covered by the Burris Forever Warranty.
