Overview

The Primary Arms SLx 5x MicroPrism pushes the compact prism format to 5x magnification, giving astigmatic and simplicity-minded shooters more reach than the 3x MicroPrism while keeping the etched glass reticle that makes prisms work for eyes that smear a red dot. The ACSS Aurora reticle is etched into the glass and stays visible with the illumination off.

At 8.5 oz the 5x MicroPrism is only slightly heavier than the 3x, yet the extra magnification meaningfully extends positive target identification and precision past where a 3x runs out. The ACSS Aurora 5.56/.308 reticle layers a central chevron, ranging brackets, and wind and elevation holds calibrated for common 5.56 and .308 loads, so holdovers stay intuitive at distance.

The fixed 5x sits in the gap between the 3x MicroPrism and a full variable LPVO. It is the right call for a shooter who wants a fixed, rugged, astigmatism-friendly optic with genuine mid-range capability, mounted on a standard-length carbine or a designated marksman build. A CR2032 battery powers the illumination, backed by the etched reticle.
