The Trijicon Huron 3-9x40 is the company's answer to the North American deer hunter who wants the Trijicon name on a traditional hunting scope instead of an ACOG. It is a 1-inch, second focal plane 3-9x40 with fully multi-coated broadband anti-reflective glass that delivers edge-to-edge clarity, and the BDC Hunter Holds reticle gives clean holdover points without the busy tree of a target reticle. At 15.8 ounces it sits right in the class weight for a bolt or lever gun.
The 3-9x40 is the most versatile Huron; the 3x bottom end is fast in timber and the 9x top handles a field shot to 300 yards. Capped, finger-adjustable turrets keep the profile snag-free and let you set-and-forget a 100 or 200 yard zero, which is how most deer hunters run a fixed-power-style setup. The BDC Hunter Holds reticle is calibrated for common deer cartridges and keeps the sight picture uncluttered.
The Huron costs more than a Vortex Diamondback or Crossfire II at the same magnification, and you are paying for the Trijicon name and glass rather than exposed target turrets or a 30mm tube. For a hunter who wants a proven brand on a clean, classic layout and shoots inside 300 yards, it earns the slot.
