Overview

The PRD 3 is the RMR-cut member of Riton's current pistol dot pair, sized for full-size slides where the MPRD 3 covers the RMSc cuts on compacts. It drops straight into an RMR slide cutout with no adapter plate, which is the whole point of buying on this footprint.

Three reticle modes is the feature that earns its price. You can run a bare 2 MOA dot for precision, a 50 MOA circle alone, or the dot inside the circle, and the optic saves both the reticle choice and the brightness level through a power cycle. That last part matters more than the reticle count: a defensive optic that boots into whatever the last user left it on is a liability, and the PRD 3 comes back where you left it.

Motion sensing wakes the optic when the gun moves and shuts it down when it stops, feeding a CR1632 rated at 50,000 hours. The housing is 7075 aluminum alloy, IPX67 rated, with brightness buttons on the left side sized to work with gloves. Riton also includes a Picatinny rail adapter, mounting screws and a rubber protective cover, so the same optic moves to a shotgun receiver without a second purchase. Electro-optics carry a transferable two-year warranty.

Key Features

  • Three selectable reticle modes: 2 MOA dot, 50 MOA circle, or dot in circle
  • Saves reticle and brightness settings through a power cycle
  • Direct RMR footprint fit, no adapter plate needed
  • CR1632 rated at 50,000 hours with motion-sensing wake and shutoff
  • Ten brightness levels, 1 and 2 NV compatible, glove-sized side buttons
  • IPX67 rated 7075 aluminum alloy housing
  • Picatinny rail adapter, mounting screws and rubber cover included

Pros

  • +Three reticle modes cover precision and speed from one optic
  • +Reticle and brightness persist through a power cycle
  • +Included Picatinny adapter moves the optic to a shotgun or carbine
  • +IPX67 and 7075 alloy are specified rather than left vague

Cons

  • Open emitter, so rain and lint can still block the LED path
  • Costs the same as a Holosun EPS Carry, which is enclosed
  • 2-year electro-optics coverage rather than a lifetime term
