Steiner MPS

The Steiner MPS is the most credible direct alternative to the Aimpoint ACRO P-2 in the closed-emitter pistol optic category. Built in Germany on the same ACRO footprint, the MPS uses a sealed housing that protects the LED emitter from lint, mud, and the moisture intrusion that ends the service life of open-emitter optics like the RMR and 507C.

The 3.3 MOA dot is slightly larger than the ACRO P-2's 3.5 MOA, sized for fast pickup at handgun engagement distances rather than precision past 50 yards. Battery life runs 13,000 hours on a single CR1632, accessed through a side-loading tray that does not require unmounting the optic. Eight brightness settings include two night vision compatible levels.

The MPS sits in the same general price tier as the ACRO P-2 ($479 vs $599) and shares the same ACRO mounting standard, so plate compatibility is identical.
