Eagle Industries
USSOCOM-pedigree carrier with integrated kangaroo mag retention behind the cummerbund. Holds up to 3 M4 mags without external pouches; full PALS surfaces front, rear, and sides.
The Eagle Industries MMAC is what you buy when you want USSOCOM-issued construction without going to TYR or Crye-tier pricing. Eagle's MMAC has been issued in various configurations across NSW, MARSOC, and USASOC use, and the current civilian-channel version retains the kangaroo cummerbund architecture that distinguishes it from front-face placard carriers.
The kangaroo cummerbund is the MMAC's defining feature. Behind the front cummerbund panel, an internal pouch retains up to three M4 magazines flat against the body, plus dedicated radio and side plate pockets. That removes the need for external mag pouches and keeps the front face clean — closer to a slick profile than the spec sheet suggests, despite the full-PALS exterior. For users running a chest rig over the carrier or simply wanting magazines closer to the body than a typical placard, the kangaroo MMAC is the architectural answer.
Plate accommodation is straightforward: SAPI Shooter's Cut or ESAPI front and rear, with 6x6 or 6x8 side plates in the cummerbund pockets. The MMAC-R (released in 2019) adds NSW-issued releasable construction at higher cost; the standard MMAC is the civilian buy.
Eagle Industries does not have a strong affiliate channel — Atomic Defense, OptTactical, and Legit Kit are the main third-party stockers, and the brand sells direct as well. OpticsPlanet and Brownells do not consistently stock the MMAC, which is part of why this carrier flies under the radar versus equivalent-tier Crye and Ferro options.
