Crye Precision
Crye's benchmark lightweight carrier. Sub-1-lb skeletal-cummerbund design that defined the modern slick-carrier category and serves as the reference for nearly every clone-tier build.
The Crye JPC 2.0 is the carrier most other lightweight plate carriers are measured against. Just over a pound on the scale with a skeletal MOLLE cummerbund and SAPI-cut plate pockets, it set the template that Ferro, Spiritus, and Agilite all build against. The cummerbund pulls flat against the body when loaded, the rear admin pouch handles a folded map or radio, and the front face accepts the entire AVS detachable flap ecosystem.
What you give up at this weight is plate-cut flexibility. The JPC 2.0 is sized for SAPI Shooter's Cut plates only — Swimmer Cut buyers go to the JPC 2.0 Swimmer Cut model, and squared 10x12 plates do not fit. Side plate carriage requires the separate AVS Side Armor Carriers or skipping side plates entirely.
The AVS flap interface is the JPC 2.0's real ecosystem advantage. The same Cobra Flap and Detachable Flap that mount on the AVS bolt to the JPC 2.0, which means a buyer can scale up from a slick low-vis JPC to a flap-equipped clone build without buying a second carrier. That cross-compatibility is what keeps the JPC 2.0 on this list five years after the 2.0 revision.
JPC 2.0s are sold direct through Crye and through specialty retailers; OpticsPlanet does not consistently stock them. Color and size availability cycles in waves, with MultiCam, Coyote, and Ranger Green moving fastest.
Add the JPC 2.0 to your build and see how it enhances your platform.
