Overview

The Glock 45 is the crossover model: G19 slide on a G17 frame. You get the full 17-round grip of the G17 with the shorter 4.02-inch barrel of the G19. The Gen6 version ships January 2026 alongside the G17 and G19 Gen6, and carries all the same Gen6 updates.

The crossover layout suits shooters who want full-size capacity without the G17's longer barrel. Competition shooters running Carry Optics often choose the G45 for this reason — the compact slide clears holsters faster than the G17, while the G17 frame gives a full firing grip and 17-round capacity. It's also the configuration many European and Asian police forces transitioned to when Glock introduced the G45 with Gen5.

The Gen6 frame brings the same ergonomic changes: undercut trigger guard, integrated palm swell, fixed beavertail (not swappable), and RTF6 dual-pattern texture. The flat-faced trigger is standard but is a step back from Gen5 in feel — mushier wall, less distinct reset. Optics-ready is standard with three polymer plates included. Gen6 barrel geometry is incompatible with Gen5 barrels. Existing G45/G19/G17 holsters fit without issue.
