Springfield Hellion 16"

The Springfield Hellion 16-inch rifle is the compact baseline for the US-market VHS-2 bullpup. It keeps a full 16-inch 5.56 barrel in a 28.25- to 29.75-inch overall package, feeds from STANAG AR-15 magazines, and ships with a full-length top Picatinny rail plus polymer M-LOK handguard sections for lights and support-hand accessories.

The Hellion is also unusually ambidextrous for a bullpup. Ejection reverses without extra parts or tools, and the safety, charging handle, magazine release, and bolt release are ambidextrous from the factory. The two-position adjustable short-stroke piston system, 1/2x28 muzzle threads, and 5-position stock make it a strong host for optics, lights, slings, muzzle devices, and the Hellion-specific aftermarket parts from Manticore Arms, Black Talon Tactical, The VHS-2 Project, LunarTech, and Stinc.
