Overview

The HD C3.6 is the smallest Staccato HD and the closest the 2011 platform has come to a true subcompact carry pistol. At 24 oz with a 7075 aluminum frame, 3.6" bull barrel, 7.1" overall length, and 4.8" height, it sits inside the same envelope as a Glock 26 while keeping 2011 trigger geometry, 15+1 capacity, and Glock 19 magazine compatibility for higher-capacity backup mags.

The 0.4" barrel reduction versus the C4X is the headline change. Going from 4.0" to 3.6" cuts overall length by half an inch and pulls the muzzle behind the trigger guard, making AIWB carry significantly more practical. The HOST optic system, ambidextrous controls, billet 7075 frame, and external extractor carry over from the larger HDs unchanged. The same 4.0 to 4.5 lb single-action trigger ships from the factory.

The trade-off versus the C4X is the loss of the integrated compensator. The C3.6 runs a conventional bull barrel without porting, so muzzle rise will be more noticeable than on the comp-equipped C4X. For carry purposes that is the correct call: the C3.6 is built to conceal first, and a short comp barrel adds dwell time and gas handling complexity that hurts reliability with carry-grade hollow points. Standard package starts at $2,299 with the Premium running $2,799.

Key Features

  • 3.6" stainless bull barrel (no compensator)
  • 7075 aluminum billet-machined frame
  • Glock 19-pattern magazine compatibility (15 rd)
  • HOST optic mounting system with adapter plates
  • Ambidextrous thumb safety and reversible mag release
  • Active firing pin block for drop safety
  • External extractor for improved feed reliability

Pros

  • +Smallest Staccato HD ever produced
  • +24 oz unloaded competes with Glock 19 (22.4 oz)
  • +7.1" overall length and 4.8" height fit standard G19 holsters with minor tweaks
  • +Glock 19 magazine compatibility for higher-capacity backups
  • +$2,299 entry price is $1,200 less than the HD C4X
  • +4.0 to 4.5 lb single-action trigger out of the box

Cons

  • No integrated compensator, more muzzle rise than the C4X
  • 1.6" width still wider than a Glock 19 (1.34")
  • Aluminum frame less durable long-term than steel-frame HD P4
  • Premium package at $2,799 approaches HD C4X Standard price
  • Glock-pattern mags negate any 2011-mag-collection compatibility
