Staccato
4.4-inch bull-barrel 2011 issued by over 1,600 LE agencies; the legacy Staccato duty/Carry Optics workhorse before the HD line
0-10 Scale Across 8 Axes
The Staccato P is the original duty/competition 2011 that put Staccato on every IDPA, USPSA Carry Optics, and law-enforcement contract list before the HD series arrived. The 4.4-inch bull barrel sits in the middle of the Staccato lineup, neither the 4-inch HD C-series nor the 5-inch XL/XC, and that compromise is the point: short enough to clear a duty holster, long enough to deliver competition-grade sight radius once an optic is on top.
The 4 to 4.5 lb single-action trigger ships clean out of the box. The 33 oz steel-frame weight gives meaningful recoil management without crossing into XL/XC race-gun territory. The 8.1-inch overall length and 1.5-inch grip width are wide for concealment, but the platform was designed for duty and Carry Optics, not AIWB. The Dawson Precision tool-less recoil system, government-length stroke, and tactical texture grip are unchanged from the broader Staccato 2011 ecosystem.
Staccato lists the P as approved for duty by more than 1,600 US law enforcement agencies, including federal, state, and local users; this is the largest deployed 2011 platform in service. The P uses the Staccato proprietary 2011 magazine pattern with 17+1 standard capacity and 20+1 extended, not Glock or P320 mags. That ecosystem is a known cost factor at roughly $90 per spare, but the broader 2011 aftermarket (holsters, mag pouches, sights, plates) is built around this magazine envelope. For Carry Optics shooters who don't need the steel HD-frame premium and don't want to pay XL prices, the P is the long-running default.
